Dr. Zahi Hawass is the former Director General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the person in charge of overseeing all archaeological activities in Egypt. Dr. Hawass was awarded the honor of becoming one of the first Resident Archaeologists of the National Geographic Society in 2001.
