Journey to Cerros by land or by water to see the only coastal Maya site in Belize. Dating back to 50 B.C., Cerros was the first coastal trading center by the Maya. While a massive place, many enjoy one thing in particular: the stucco masks, representing different ideas. For instance, one symbolizes the rising sun and another Venus. Additionally, surrounding the site, there is an ancient canal system. The Maya built an extensive canal system and utilized raised-field agriculture.
