Tucked into the southwestern region of Brazil is the world’s largest tropical wetland, formed by 175 rivers and full of a diverse array of flora and fauna: a natural wonderland. Here there’s hiking, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling, birdwatching, photography and even spending time with the pantaneiros, the Brazilian cowboys.
The Pantanal, a World Heritage Site, is home to over 700 bird species, over 200 fish varieties, nearly 90 different mammals and over 50 types of reptiles. Bonito is the center of ecotourism in Brazil.

year around. August thru October is best for animal sightings. More mild weather is generally in April and May and August and September.
