Special Access: Abdeen Palace
Cairo, Egypt
A very special and exclusive permission can be obtained to visit the glorious Abdeen Palace. Constructed in 1863 on order of Khedive Ismail as part of the plan for a modern Cairo, the palace acted as the royal residence until the monarchy was abolished in 1952. This palace is considered one of the most beautiful and magnificent palaces around the world. Usually the public could visit the museum, which is attached to the palace, with a normal entry fee. However, the palace itself is closed to the public and could not be accessed unless a special permission is obtained. (That’s where we come in.)
