Catie's Story
The world has fascinated me since I saw my first globe! Even though I dearly loved my family’s camping trips every year throughout my childhood, I longed to see what else was out there. After getting the opportunity to travel to places close to home, like Mexico, Canada, and several states in the U.S., I knew this was my calling. Since graduating Travel School in 1990, I have continued to live and breathe travel. So far, I have traveled to many places in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, and the South Pacific. Plus, I just recently was excited to visit Taiwan!
In my “past life,” I was a studio and wedding photographer. For me, photography and travel go hand in hand. I love to hear from clients about their vacations, but I truly appreciate seeing their experiences. One of my greatest joys is when they share their photos and videos of them having the time of their life! I have received pictures of clients’ bathing an elephant in Chiang Rai, Thailand… clients in a plane over Milford Sound, New Zealand… on a honeymoon, jumping off the deck of their overwater bungalow in Bora Bora, Tahiti. One of my favorites was a video from a family of four, where they were enjoying a pizza-making class I had scheduled for them in Florence, Italy. It is very true what they say: “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
The best travel experience is discovering what is unique in each destination! I love meeting new people, studying amazing architecture, delving into the incredible art and culture, and exploring local cuisine – like spicy jerk spaghetti with a Red Stripe beer in Jamaica, wine touring with a local in New Zealand, or visiting everybody’s favorite “Mama’s Fish House” in Maui!

While planning your trip, I will cover every detail, beginning with the necessary documentation, packing tips, awareness of safety and customs around the world, and ending with a fabulous farewell dinner while cruising down the Seine in Paris, a sunset dinner on the white sandy beach of Trunk Bay in St. John, a viewing of the “Last Supper” with tickets to the opera at La Scala in Milan, or a fun cooking class to make soup dumplings and boba in Taipei.
