Lynn's Story
I believe that traveling the world encourages us to be better human beings. As we experience other cultures (even if it is another region of the United States!) we can become more understanding of our interactions with those around us. During a trip – no matter where I am – I get excited to learn more about the people and immerse myself in the surroundings. One of my favorite things to do is walk through a grocery store or market. Just by looking at what is on the shelves and observing what the local residents are buying, you would be amazed at how much you can get a sense about the culture!
As a child, I was always fascinated when our family traveled. Growing up in a small town in northern Wisconsin, even a 40-minute drive to Milwaukee was a big deal. If we drove another hour and a half to Chicago, things got even more interesting – city life was fast-paced, buildings were tall, and lights were bright. I loved every minute of it! As soon as I got my driver’s license at 16, I drove everywhere and visited everyone. Road trip to Nashville? Of course! Just don’t tell my mom…
I decided to become a travel advisor after 15 years of traveling for work as a business continuity professional for large corporations. My career took me to Shanghai and Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, and across most of America. I developed strategies to ensure companies had a backup plan to survive major disruptions, such as fire, earthquake, or pandemics (like COVID-19). As I traveled to these locations, the local associates I worked with showed me their way of life and introduced me to their friends and families. I got a true understanding of their culture both professionally and personally, and I experienced areas that the locals visit.
I travel everywhere. At this point, unless there is a high risk, everything is on my bucket list; no country is off limits. I got married in Hawaii, with a honeymoon in Tahiti and Moorea. I have used the Eurorail train pass to explore Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy, and I’ve paraglided in Switzerland in the Alps. I will never turn down a relaxing trip to the Caribbean, as I’ve enjoyed the warm, electric blue waters of Barbados and Antigua. Driving a go-kart through the streets of Tokyo may seem crazy, but it’s strangely legal and worth it. Mexico is a favorite. If you have never been to Alaska, the mountains and glaciers are like nothing you’ve ever seen.
With my passion for travel, and the trust companies have had in me over the years to keep them secure, I can design the perfect travel experience for you with the support to feel confident before, during, and after your adventure.
