Maike's Story
I am a native of Germany, born and raised in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. I grew up in very small towns, one close to the North Sea and bordering the Netherlands and one closer to Berlin. They are still charming to this day, and I still go back and visit to this day.
Being a German native, I have a great knowledge of the European countries and pass that on to my clients. I love putting independent trips together, which include (if possible and feasible) the train. Nothing is easier that exploring Europe that way, especially in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. (These countries have the best infrastructure for train travel.)
Another favorite of mine is river cruising, especially around the time of the Christmas markets. Since all the rivers were once the highways within Europe, it is easy to imagine why when docking in the middle of those great cities.
Some of my favorite travel experiences include taking the funicular to Mt. Pilatus and the train to the top of Europe in Switzerland. Visiting the Chocolate Museum in Cologne during Christmastime. Going to Rimini in Italy on the Adriatic Coast. Experiencing Israel was a dream come true. St. Petersburg was another gem. (Just to name a few!)
My personal connection as a European native will prove invaluable as you book your vacation to this continent that I know like the back of my hand. I am a certified specialist for Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, Morocco, and many more.
Even though I specialize in Europe, I send clients all over the globe, by planes, trains, and cars; ocean and river cruises; and, really, all kinds of transportation modes. I also traveled to Australia (where I held a little crocodile in my hands), Tahiti, Fiji, a number of countries in Asia, Alaska, and Central America.
Planning a vacation takes time, patience, and perseverance. I am very detail-oriented, fun-loving, and have traveled to most of the places I book. I always find a way to make sure you get the best value and experience for your money. I also encourage my clients to pursue local customs when visiting a new region and check out less touristy areas.
Most people find traveling stressful and exhausting, but for me, I when I get ready to go to the airport and after boarding the plane, I know a new adventure awaits.
