Robbie's Story
I have an internal “need” to go to Europe every year. I am a very proud American who would not wish to live anywhere else but right here; however, I could be persuaded to live in Italy and perhaps New Zealand. Many other places call my name, specifically Turkey, but I would always need to come home. Other parts of the world, like South Africa, Russia and even parts of Asia I find very interesting, but Europe always calls me back.
I’m originally from Texas and I’m always ready to GO! I became a travel agent well over a decade ago when I realized I could combine my love of history, geography, current events and passion with travel and make that my career. I’m passionate about all things travel related. It’s my responsibility to know what’s out there in the world and to be able to paint a picture in your mind of the possibilities for your travels.
I love to travel with my granddaughter, and the first time I took her to Paris was unforgettable. We did all the touristy things like the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and the museums. Before we traveled, we looked online at the Egyptian Exhibit and the Mona Lisa, among other things, at the Louvre. I showed her just how big the building was and how much would be there so that she would not be overwhelmed. A month after we returned from France, when asked what her favorite thing we did or that she saw was, her response was emphatic “THE MUMMY CATS!” Even a 5-year old will enjoy a museum as large as the Louvre as long as you plan ahead!
I love when you get excited about your holiday and I get a high when you tell me you hear and feel my passion. When traveling, I keep James Michener’s comment in mind:“If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay home.”
