Sha's Story
My love for travel started in my 20s when I worked for an airline in Fiji. I remember my first trip to Australia as if it was yesterday and how excited I was to explore a new country and experience the culture there. Travel gives me more than just visiting a new destination… it nourishes my soul, fuels my mind, and makes me appreciate our universe!
My travel adventures have taken me to India where my experiences were incredible with a boat ride on the sacred Ganges River; witnessing the evening prayers and cremation on the river banks; day cruising on the Vembanad Lake, which is the longest lake in Kerala, India; and an opportunity to pray at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.
In Bali, I remember my visit to Ubud’s rice paddies, an opportunity to speak with a local priest on the blessings trail, and my visit to the famous monkey forest where I had monkeys sitting on my shoulders and hands. The evening ended with dinner on the beach in Jimbaran after a full day of adventure with a beautiful sunset!
My zipline experience in Chiang Mai and visiting the offshore islands in Phuket were the highlight of my trip to Thailand. In New Zealand, where adventure reigns supreme, life is all about nature and living to the fullest. My ATV ride on 60-mile beach and sandboarding were some of the highlights of my adventure in New Zealand. Costa Rica’s incredible natural beauty is simply breathtaking. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the hot springs in Arenal and the Manuel Antonio National Park. Visiting Italy for the first time last year was an incredible experience for me. I absolutely enjoyed Florence and walking the piazzas and eating local cuisine. While in Rome, I visited the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and the Vatican, and I indulged in pizza and gelato! Italy is full of history and should be on everyone’s bucket list.
I was born in Fiji and have fond memories of growing up on an island. The South Pacific has a very special place in my heart. The islands there are what romance is all about: simple yet elegant with all the comforts of life except for television, where romance is the order of the day.
