Alaska Cruise on Holland America
“I am not a cruiser…” That is what I would have said if you had asked me about cruising up until I went to Alaska on a Holland America Line cruise.
I had such a wonderful time. I ended up rooming with a colleague, and we thoroughly took advantage of and lived the cruise lifestyle all week! We went to every bingo game, night time dance party at the BB King’s Blues Club and took countless on-board fancy cruise pictures. Our sailing was aboard the ms Oosterdam and we cruised roundtrip from Seattle to Juneau, Ketchikan and Victoria, B.C. The ship itself was very nice and the staff was incredible. They were warm, accommodating and seemed to really enjoy working for Holland America.
Alaska itself is beautiful! My most memorable experience from the trip was going to the “Fortress of the Bear” in Sitka. It was incredible. This organization takes in bears that would otherwise be euthanized and gives them a new happy life. They rescue them and give them care for any injuries they have sustained. These bears then have a new life and you get to watch them play and love their new big outside space.
I am so thankful to have gone on this trip because not only did I get to experience Alaska, but I found out that I just might be a cruiser!
