Cunard Line’s Queen Elizabeth Receives Welcome on LA Maiden Call
Cunard Cruise Line brought the exciting new Queen Elizabeth to Los Angeles this weekend during her Maiden World Cruise. Various dignitaries were on hand to welcome the Queen Elizabeth at the port in San Pedro. She was a sight to behold. The Queen Elizabeth arrives here just two weeks after a historic meeting of all three Cunard liners in New York — only the second time in over 170 years that’s occurred!
The Los Angeles Scots Pipe Band bid the new ship a festive “bon voyage” as she set sail to Hawaii and the South Pacific. Following the world cruise, Queen Elizabeth will spend the remainder of 2011 in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
Cunard Cruises’ Queen Victoria will make several calls to Los Angeles this year. Queen Victoria will cross between the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts via the Panama Canal, and include two roundtrip voyages from Los Angeles to Hawaii, and a brief getaway voyage to Mexico.
