Dreams Los Cabos
I just returned from a trip to Dreams Los Cabos, an all-inclusive vacation resort.
The positives: The junior suites are very large and comfortable at 650 sq ft and all ocean view. There’s only one sink in the bathroom, but there’s a bar sink outside the bathroom. The one-bedroom suite was very comfortable, and had double sinks. The one bedroom suite could also be made into a two-bedroom accommodation with an adjacent small room with bath.
This large resort is very, very clean…room service with turn down was great. There are two large pools, one with a small slide as well as a swim up bar. There are five restaurants. One is indoors, four are outdoors, and include a buffet, two seafood venues, a Japanese and an Italian. Cuisine was very good – drinks were name brands. Tablecloths and cloth napkins in all restaurants, except in the Buffet. Kids Club was great for youngsters, and open from 9:30 am to 9:30pm.
The concerns: The beach is gravel and the ocean is pretty to look at but not swimmable. Plenty of palapas on the beach and lots of chairs around the pool with umbrellas. The swimmable beach is a 15-minute walk to the Hilton. The Spa is very nice but there’s no outdoor relaxation area. The entertainment shows at night were not great.
If you want to go to town and are part of a larger group, rent a car as the shuttle is $6.00 per person each way to Cabo. Some packages may include the shuttle. Airport shuttle was $12.50 a person, kids half-price. We rented a car and went to Todos de Santos (and San Jose del Cabo). Both are less congested than Cabo San Lucas.
All in all it was great. A perfect vacation with a family. I would definitely go back.
