Heaven On Earth at Halekulani in Hawaii
Recently, we had the pleasure of spending 5 nights in paradise at the Halekulani on Oahu, Hawaii to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
With its luxury and peacefulness, combined with access to some of the best dining in the Islands, the Halekulani is truly a haven in Waikiki. Prior to arrival, I contacted the Concierge team to book 5 dinner reservations. They replied with a lovely typed daily itinerary, including the restaurant name, contact information and VIP requests.
From the minute we arrived on property, it was like a ‘cruise on land’ where service and attention to detail surrounded us. The personal escort to our room for check-in was only the beginning of feeling spoiled. It seemed the whole team from the Front Desk, Bellmen, Concierge Desk, Housekeeping, Dining to Pool staff recognized us, wishing Jim a Happy Birthday and making sure all was well with our stay – even singing in the corridor as we returned to our room on the actual day!
Ulrich Krauer, the General Manager, has maintained the exceptional feeling of luxury combined with the ease and casualness of Hawaii.
Our upgraded room to Oceanfront brought sounds & sights from the ‘House Without a Key’ drifting up to our balcony nightly at 5:30pm as we watched the sunset.
Nightly turn down service was another unique treat as there was always a different gift presented on our pillow with a theme.
Dinning anywhere on this property for breakfast, lunch or dinner was always a delight – and their special Coconut Cream Cake is not to be missed. Other venues such as Lewers Lounge for Jazz or Orchids & La Mer for fine dining kept us captive back on property after exploring the energy of Waikiki or driving around to see the beauty of the island.
As we toasted with the complimentary champagne on our last night looking out to the final sunset, I knew this would be a place we must return soon – and send many friends to experience the unique feeling of the Halekulani, Heaven on Earth.
