Pera Palace, Istanbul
Recently I visited Istanbul, Turkey, and wanted to share my thoughts on the Pera Palace Hotel. It’s a lovely property with a special historical character.
Its location offers a wonderful alternative to staying in Sultanhamet at the Four Seasons, or on the Bosphorous at either the Four Seasons or the Kempinski.
The Pera Palace puts the Taksim and surrounding communities within walking distance. This opens up a range of dining options also within walking distance, cutting down on the hassle of taking cabs. Rooftop restaurants nearby offer beautiful views of the city.
For those arriving or departing by cruise ship, the port is five-ten minutes by cab, and the historic section is about twenty minutes away. The room in the attachment is a Deluxe with a Golden Horn View.
