Sailing the Med in Style

We chose the innovative and contemporary Celebrity Edge from Barcelona. We upgraded to The Retreat Suite class with exclusive and high touch areas as a suite-only lounge, pool and restaurant. 

With further amenities, we were spoiled every day.

We arrived in Barcelona 3 days early to explore this unique and historic city. We found a somewhat transformed experience with many new pedestrian streets and a higher police presence which has much improved the theft and pick pocket situation. We found plenty to do pre-cruise.

Then our cruise spent a week with stops in Cannes, Portofino, the port for Florence, the port for Rome and Corsica. We enjoyed a balanced mix of shore excursions and free time. 

Getting there can be half the fun. We chose one of our favorite airlines, Lufthansa, for Business Class going and First Class returning to LAX. Business Class in the upper deck of a B747-8 was comfortable even with the older seats. Coming home, First Class with the Private First Class Frankfurt Terminal, Porsche direct to the aircraft and multi course dining including vintage champagne and caviar was serene.

What a way to end an amazing European adventure.
