St. Regis Punta Mita, Mexico

I had the opportunity and pleasure to attend a Starwood/Luxury Advisory Board Meeting at the St Regis Punta Mita, Mexico earlier this week.

Located right next door to the now 10 year old and very successful Four Seasons, both hotels share the same golf course. Transfer time from Puerto Vallarta is about 45 minutes, a prearranged transfer is mandatory. There are hundreds of time share solicitors in the PVR arrival halloffering free transfers to the hotels, but it probably would turn out to be a 4 hour ride should one accept.

St Regis is a brand new build, opened last November, but does not look it as the vegetation is already fully grown in. Smaller than the Four Sseasons, is has 3 pools and 3 restaurants, plus a full spa and gym. Room product is superior to Four Seasons in size and decor (new ) and include outdoor showers.

Service levels were very high, excellent English spoken everywhere, staff is eager and wants to “Wow”. Butler service is unobtrusive and will do as much or as little as you will let them.

Highly recommended! As far as travel to Mexico, we all felt very safe, planes were full of US and Canadians. But be careful, if clients are squeamish about Mexico at this time they might be better served by going somewhere (Costa Rica ) that is not associated with any factor of hesitation or fear.
