Vancouver’s Loden Hotel

I recently stayed at the Loden where I asked Nadja, the Sales Manager, what are three recommendations she would consider essential when staying at the Loden. We decided we would do each of her recommendations together.

So my amazing weekend began with an adventurous bike ride. The Loden provides complimentary bikes to hotel guests, which allowed us to take a ride around Stanley Park. The hotel packed us a little picnic per Nadja’s instructions. This can be arranged for any hotel guest with the concierge.

Nadja and I chose to take a leisurely ride and became quite familiar with the sound of bike bells chiming and being asked politely to move to the left. On our way we stopped for pictures by the bay and also at the totem poles. We passed beaches aptly named first, second and third beach. Third beach was where we ate our picnic lunch. It was an absolutely lovely day.

That evening we dined at Tableau Bar Bistro, which is the hotel’s restaurant on property. This was Nadja’s second suggestion not to be missed.

Tableau Bistro is an award-winning neighborhood bar bistro that is popular with both locals and guests. The menu offers today’s take on traditional French bistro cuisine, prepared by the talented culinary team of Tableau Bar Bistro. Nadja and I each chose the noodle special. It was delicious and reminded me of my mother‘s homemade noodles.

The next day was overcast and rainy, so we did Nadja’s third absolute must-do, and that was to visit Granville Island market. Guests of the Loden can even arrange to have their authentic London cabs drive them to the ferry dock where you can take the Aquabus to Granville Island. Once we arrived we took in all the shops, galleries and food the market offers. Before our driver arrived to pick us up, we made a little stop at liberty distillery. They provide tours and tastings here. We chose to have a cocktail to warm our insides.

The beauty of Granville Island market it that it can be enjoyed in almost any type of weather.
